Richard lives with his wife Shirley in Tan y Bryn Road, Holyhead.

He is retired after working for Stena Line for many years firstly as Financial Controller and secondly as Ports Operations Manager, before spending the last thirteen years before retirement working for Hogan Group Bangor as its Group Administrator.

Richard has previously served on Anglesey County Council and on several occasions on Holyhead Town Council being elected in May 2017 to represent Porthyfelin Ward.

Richard was elected Mayor in May 2021 and firmly believes that the Council wishes to be pro active in addressing the concerns of Holyhead people.
